Coffee Blue Awarded For Armed Forces Support

Coffee Blue has received the prestigious Silver ERS Award in recognition of our support for our Armed Forces.

Made by the Ministry of Defence, the award gives recognition to employers who have actively demonstrated their support for the Armed Forces community.

Such support is shown by implementing practical policies in the workplace.

The award has three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Having received the Bronze award last year, Coffee Blue is proud to be named among 13 Welsh organisations who have advanced to the next level.

Coffee Blue Director, Martin Jones, said:

The Armed Forces community are as heroic as it gets. The work they do in protecting our country keeps us all safe.

Providing work opportunities to smoothen their transition back to normality is the least we, as employers, can do to help.

Coffee Blue has always been determined to create supportive ways for coffee lovers to start their own coffee van franchise.

Our dedication to caring for franchisees extends to Armed Forces personnel.

We couldn’t be more proud to receive this award.

To qualify for the Silver level of the award, organisations must proactively demonstrate that the Armed Forces community are not unfairly disadvantaged as part of their recruitment policies.

They must also actively ensure their workforce is aware of their positive policies towards Defence people issues for veterans, Reserves, Cadet Force, Adult Volunteers, and spouses/partners for those serving in the Armed Forces.

Minister for Defence People and Veterans, Johnny Mercer, said:

“The breadth and diversity of the winners this year shows how business support for the Armed Forces continues to grow no matter the sector, company size or location.

I am grateful for the positive attitude and flexible policies these organisations have adapted towards the defence community, which is testament to the fantastic contribution our serving personnel, veterans and their families can make to any organisation.

I am delighted that so many companies are supporting our people and that, through this scheme, we can give them the public recognition they deserve.”
