How Coffee Blue is helping key workers

How Coffee Blue is supporting key workers during the pandemic

Times are tough, there’s no denying it. The current pandemic has changed our working and social lives significantly.

Throughout the lockdowns, social distancing and self-isolations, Coffee Blue has remained determined to support the key workers who help keep our country ticking.

A few weeks ago, we announced a new delivery scheme to bring our services directly to people’s homes.

Since then, a number of franchisees have taken it upon themselves to go above and beyond for their communities.

Here are just a few examples of how Coffee Blue is helping our country’s key workers:

Free coffee for NHS staff

Near the start of the UK’s lockdown, Coffee Blue bosses thought it would be a good idea to give back to the hard-at-work NHS staff on the front line.

We announced on social media we are providing a complimentary hot drink to all NHS workers with a Coffee Blue van nearby.

All they have to do is contact us directly and we’ll send out their nearest mobile barista with a complimentary.

Already we’ve had pharmacists, nurses, doctors and more redeem their free coffees. Contact your nearest barista today and nominate an NHS worker for a free coffee.

Key workers still getting their daily dose of Blue

Franchisees who visit key workers on their daily rounds have continued to fuel their days where possible.

NHS workers, police officers and education workers are just some of those on the front lines and still receiving their daily visit from Coffee Blue.

All visits are conducted with health and safety at the forefront. Our baristas are taking all necessary precautions such as using the appropriate equipment and minimising contact.

This ensures our franchisees are still able to provide customers with their daily pick-me-ups without endangering those around them.

If you’re looking for one of our vans to visit your workplace and provide your team with some delicious coffee, find your nearest barista here.

Coffee Blue Bristol serving our public services

Coffee Blue Bristol North was due to launch at the end of March 2020. With the current pandemic and ongoing restrictions on social interaction, the launch was delayed.

But this didn’t stop owner, Gareth Rosser, from putting his training to good use.

Gareth utilised his connections in the local police force to organise daily complimentary coffee drops to all the hard-working officers.

He said:

Despite being unable to launch as planned at the end of March, Coffee Blue Bristol didn’t want to simply sit around and wait for restrictions to be lifted. Instead, we decided to support our local police constabulary with a complimentary daily supply of fresh coffee.

A family member of mine works for Avon and Somerset Police force. We arranged for the order and collection of a number of lattes and flat whites to keep them going during these unprecedented times

Coffee Blue Bristol would like to express our gratitude to all of those working on the frontline, keeping everyone safe and well during these times.

Stay tuned for more news on Coffee Blue Bristol North’s launch coming soon. In the meantime, you can visit their website here.

Coffee Blue Caerphilly visits childcare hubs and local NHS workers

Staff at Well Trethomas enjoying our coffee and hot chocolate. Thank you for thinking of us during this troubling time. We really appreciate it 😀💕

While schools across the country have been closed to stop the spread of COVID-19, some schools and their staff are being used as community hubs.

These hubs allow key workers to send their children to a safe environment while they work, eliminating the need to pay for childcare.

Gareth from Coffee Blue Caerphilly has even paid visits to pharmacies and nurses throughout the area, providing them with complimentary hot drinks.

He said:

I’ve had loads of messages from key workers since the start of the pandemic. All have been very thankful, saying it’s a lovely gesture and nice to be thought of.

It’s been nice to hear that from the key workers directly treating patients and keeping the country going.

When Gareth and Martin from Coffee Blue HQ mentioned the idea, I thought it was least we could do.

Why did I want to get involved? Well, we are all in this together. Seeing the sacrifice they are making for us and how busy they are, it was nice to give something back.

What better way to get through a busy day than a Coffee Blue coffee, right? Also, my girlfriend is a nurse working on the front line. I see the impact, stress and worry first-hand. She is a true inspiration and hero during this time, as are all her colleagues.

So, those are just some of the things Coffee Blue baristas are doing to support key workers during these times.

If you’d like to nominate any NHS workers for a free coffee, please get in touch with your nearest mobile barista.

For further queries and information, you can get in touch with our team here.

Stay safe, everyone.

Coffee Blue.

I am so proud of Jon Savan (Aberdare). He has worked so hard to provide vulnerable people in the community with basic supplies and some much needed treats. He is also providing key workers in the Merthyr and Aberdare areas with hot snacks and drinks to help them through the day where they have no onsite catering facilities available. Well done Jon !👏👏👏👏

We agree, Anne! The work Jon has been doing is simply amazing!
